The Big (Soft) Re-launch

After what must be a record-long period of procrastination (9 Years!) I have finally (low-key) relaunched the blog, rebranding from TEZofAllTrades.blogspot to TEZtify.co.uk!

Relaunching the site was always a daunting task, so much so, that I never actually got around to it when I should have. My work/life balance was messed up and I was under an unhealthy level of stress. Luckily, I've had time to reflect and get back to my creative roots.

Skyfall or SkyFAIL? Was James Bond 007's Marketing Drier than a Martini?

Okay, so this post was supposed to go up 9 years ago... Whoops! It's still a good read, though, I promise!

So what's my problem with Skyfall? Well it's not my problem, but it might be one for the film's stakeholders. There's something wrong with their marketing, or more specifically, their bus banner adverts.

On first look, visually I actually love what they've done! As you can probably tell from my own site, I'm a fan of black/white designs and the use of contrast. The striking simplicity and positioning of the logo is especially well done. That said, on closer inspection of the film's bus ads, which at the moment are inescapable, there seems to be something missing–content!

Starting Over

It's not quite New Year's but I'm starting my resolutions a bit early this year! Career-wise I've been given the opportunity for a fresh start. To go hand in-hand with this, I've decided to rebrand and relaunch this site.

X-Men VS Lady Gaga's Born This Way Video

What do you get when you combine an iconic superhero force and an iconic pop diva? Quite possibly the best thing since... well, ever! Well perhaps that's an exaggeration, although fans might agree. Still worth watching if you're not as big of a geek as I am.

Our Town - What a Dump? Mystery of the Matresses!

Southall is a town In West London and one I regularly travel through. For the most part it's largely a residential area. During my time there I'm amazed at the things I see. One thing has stood out for me though, and now that I've become familiar with the area I've realised it's not something that will change unless action is taken. For some unknown reason the entire town seems to be littered with mattresses!

Pop goes the ad campaign - Ashton Kutcher, media literacy, racism, and PopChips

with the amount of work, money and manpower that goes into organising an ad campaign these days you wouldn't think it possible to go quite so wrong as the recent one for PopChips, featuring The Butterfly Effect actor, Ashton Kutcher. Nor would you think it possible that a racist advert appear in the media... well maybe it didn't, that part is subject to opinion if you ask me, but either way there's been an outcry over it so I thought I would take a closer look. (wondering what PopChips are? Click here for my review)

Thanks to the lovely Al over at Al's Food and Fitness Adventures, I have finally started a bit of a health kick and am determined to shed some serious poundage. I’ve followed her blog for a while and have been inspired by her writing, like you have I’m sure, as well as her inspirational before and after photos. I’ve also picked up a lot of tips along the way and now it’s time to apply them to my routine. As suggested by Alex I joined MyFitnessPal.com and since it comes with a handy app for the iPhone and others, it’s turning out to be amazing. You can read my very own review of it here.
